Borgo Stoppi, situated at 600 m a.s.l. at the foot of the Castello Poggio alla Regina, was a property of the counts Guidi since the 11th Century and after some changes of owners, in the 14th Century it became the main centre of the medieval district named Curia del Castiglione and agricultural capital of the surrounding mountain area, with its own town hall and big weekly market. Today, the old houses of the hamlet have been restored to 8 units, enhancing in a superb manner the beauty this affascinating place has maintained during the centuries: cypress, oak, pine and chestnuts trees are silent testimonies of Nature and wild boars, hares, squirrels, phaesants and owls may be watched in the surroundings. Maison superbe, dans une ambiance toscane garantie. Accueil tres sympathique et dépaysement assuré. Le seul bémol est l’accès au site un peu compliqué en terme de voirie, pente accrue non spécifié sur le site, prévoir voiture adapté. Le site est magnifique, la tranquilité absolue. A conseiller sans aucune retenue.
Nice and relaxing place to stay. Houses and gardens close each other, but with nice neighbors felt like a stay in small village. Apartment "La Torre" is in three floors, so good to remember that there is a lot of stairs. Personnel where helpful and had rather good English skills, so it was easy to arrive and get guidance in any questions. Place was quite clean and tidy, perhaps at this apartment some corners would need some fixing and painting to look better, but didn't bother us overall. Pool area was really nice, noticed that the water in pool caused some irritation on kids after hours of stay in water (probably due the chlorine etc.). Could consider to go there again, views are spectacular and place is really comfortable.
Onze vakantie was super geslaagd. Prachtig authentiek kader in een oud dorpje maar volledig aangepast aan de reiziger van vandaag. Het zwembad biedt een adembenemend zicht over de vallei. Dicht bij Firenze en Arezzo. Kortom een echte aanrader om met de ganse familie naar toe te trekken
Könnte ein wunderschönes Haus sein, wenn der Weg zum Haus nicht so abenteuerlich wäre (Tip: unbedingt Video auf Homepage anschauen) und der Zustand der Küche nicht so miserabel wäre. Grossflächiger (ca. 30 cm²) Schimmel in der Küche neben dem Kühlschrank, keine Kaffemaschine, nur ein vermoderter billiger Espressozubereiter, insgesamt nur 2 stinkende sehr große Töpfe, kein Toaster, keine Mittel wie z.B. Spülschwamm, Spülmittel, Spülmaschinentabs etc. Weiterhin waren für 2 Familien insgesamt 3 kleine Klorollen usw. Die Wände im Essbereich waren alle feucht und im Haus war es aufgrund der schlechten Isolierung sehr, sehr kalt. Für 6 Tage sparsamen Heizens (tagsüber ausgeschalten, nachts nur Schlafräume beheizt aufgrund dünnen Decken) wollte man von uns bei der Abreise 60 € verlangen. Hatten wir verweigert zu zahlen. Das im Prospekt bezeichnete zweite Bad war ein Gäste-WC mit Duschkopf. Das Wasser war überall: auf dem WC bis raus in den Flur.
Die Außenanlage war OK, der Blick auf die Landschaft traumhaft.
Das Haus könnte mit wenigen Mitteln und etwas Liebe mit Blick auf die Bedürfnisse der Gäste super sein. In dem derzeitigen Zustand verdient es max. 2-3 Sterne. Größe ist nicht alles.
