Kitchen (4 hot plates, oven, dishwasher, microwave, freezer, electric coffee machine) with dining table, open-hearth fireplace. Shower/WC. Upper floor: 1 room with 1 bed and 1 french bed. 1 room with 2 beds. 1 room with 2 beds. Shower/bidet/WC. Porch. Terrace furniture, barbecue. Very beautiful panoramic view of the countryside. Facilities: washing machine, mosquito net, baby cot for up to 2 year olds. Internet (WiFi, free). 1 pet/ dog allowed. Near the kitchen, small room with chimney and seating corner. This side of the renovated farmhouse, is the oldest part of the estate. Some hunting frescos in the dining/living room prove its origin as an hunting hut although it has been a farmer house and a stable too. The date 1850 is probably when the house was converted from hunting lodge to farmhouse. There are also 2 apartments, one for the caretaker and one, seldom used, for the owners. Very old large working farm Podere Valle di Sotto. 2 km from the centre of Volterra, 30 km from the centre of San Gimignano, 40 km from the centre of Pisa, in a quiet position on top of a hill, in the countryside. Private: garden, swimming pool (6 x 12 m, depth 120 - 200 cm, seasonal availability: 15.May. - 27.Sep.) with internal staircase and salt-electrolysis pool-cleaning system. Table tennis, garden furniture, barbecue, children's playground. In the house: with TV, internet access, washing machine. Room cleaning on request (extra). Motor access (via unmade road). Parking at the house. Shop 2 km, restaurant 2 km, bus stop 2 km, railway station 10 km.

Belle maison avec superbe piscine.
Les ados étaient un peu déçu de ne pas avoir de wifi.
l'intérieur est propre, le mobilier un peu vieillissant.
Accueil sympa, le gardien ne parle que l'italien.

« Old farmhouse, nice pool, good location »

This is an old farm house and a bit dusty. However it suited our needs. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The beds were not great. There are no mosquito blinds on the windows which is a real shame on hot nights. The pool was super, the water clean and not too much chlorine. It's a good size and our kids enjoyed it immensely. Shame that none of the windows of the house (apart from the bathroom) enjoy the lovely views. The terrace, while great for shade from the heat, also doesn't make the most of the views. It would be nice to have a terrace where the barbeque is located - here the view was best. The location is good, though the road to the house (described as an unmade road in the info) is in an appalling state with pits, pot holes and ridges. We had to navigate it carefully to avoid dragging the bottom of our cars on it. There are several houses that use this lane, can't understand why they leave it this way. We tended to drive to Volterra as it was a bit hot for an uphill walk when we were there. Volterra is a lovely and interesting place to wander around, and the house is also well situated for visits to Pisa, Sienna or the sea. The caretaker was friendly, he kept to himself but was available if we had any questions. All in all we had a very nice stay at this house, however I find EUR 2000 per week to be too expensive. I guess being families with school-aged children, we are at the mercy of the market and this doesn't show much... Oh, and there is little/no mobile phone reception at the house (though we didn't mind this at all.)

« Super miejsce na super wakacje! »

Bylismy w tym domu juz drugie wakacje z rzedu i bylo super. Piekne miejsce, bardzo przyjemny dom (stary, fajny klimat), duzy, prywatny basen, dyskretne sasiedztwo Pana Renzo Sabatiniego, który jest równiez opiekunem posesji. Praktycznie w Volterze - centrum Toskanii. Nie ma niestety zasiegu telefon i nie ma WI - FI, ale to w sumie wyjazd na wakacje. Zdecydowanie miejsce godne polecenia.
